Join Chef Hans Rueffert for a tour of the Hesse region of Germany, complete with an international Pickelball tournament! This unique culinary/Pickleball experience checks all the boxes; great food, charming German culture, new friends, and the opportunity to play in a great European Pickleball tournament.

Wiesbaden is the perfect spa town with 26 hot springs, the Kurhaus spa assembly rooms, parks, a casino and the spa colonnade – which is one of Europe's longest columned halls at 129 meters. There is also plenty to see as you stroll through the Old Town, including the Old Town Hall built in 1610, and along the elegant Wilhelm Strasse, which is brimming with designer stores and vibrant cultural attractions. Alongside exclusive boutiques, galleries and cafés, the street is home to two internationally acclaimed museums. On the eastern side of the Wilhelm Strasse there is the Warner Damm landscape park, which was laid out in 1860. Further to the east we can enjoy he Söhklein Villa, often referred to as the 'White House" because it resembles the famous landmark in Washington D.C..

Arrival in Frankfurt and private coach transfer to your hotel in scenic Wiesbaden (approx. 40 min).


The official check-in at your hotel is 3pm. If you arrive before, you will be able to drop your luggage in the luggage room and explore the city.


Enjoy some free time in Wiesbaden.

And the end of the day, we take our private coach transfer back to your hotel in beautiful Wiesbaden.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day in Heidelberg and the Upper Middle Rhine Valley.


Our private Coach transfer starts at 9:30am from Wiesbaden with arrival at 11am in majestic Heidelberg.


Free time to explore and to enjoy lunch.


At 1:30pm, meet your local private guide, beginning an amazing walking tour of Heidelberg and its famous Castle.


Immerse yourself into the fascinating history of the old town of Heidelberg. You will see all the historical sights and get insider tips that you won't find in any travel magazine. Continue through the former Hortus Palatinus to the Heidelberg Castle ruins. After a detour to Scheffel's Terrace, with is gorgeous view over the old town far into the Rhine lowlands, you will follow your local expert guide through the castle complex showing you the biggest wine barrel ever used! Those who are up for a tasting, can try regional wines in the castle cellar or alternatively visit the Pharmacy Museum in the inner courtyard.


At the end of the tour, we will have a private coach transfer back to your hotel in Wiesbaden.

Meet your local expert guide for a 2-hour cultural walking tour of the Old Town.


A medieval city on the Rhine River, Mainz has nearly a thousand years of visible history to explore. With your local expert guide leading the way, travel back in time to the age of Johannes Gutenberg, to the Holy Roman Empire, to the Renaissance and beyond, exploring Electoral Castle, Town Hall, Old Town, and more. Our local guide will also show St. Martin's Cathedral, Gutenberg Square, and much more! You will get to know the city's architecture, from half-timbered houses and old-school taverns to medieval squares. Limited to just your group, you'll really enjoy an insider's Mainz experience.


At the end of the Mainz experience, we will have lunch at our leisure and the afternoon free to make personal discoveries.


You can also stroll or visit the Gutenberg Museum if you are inclined to do so as it is highly worth it!


At the end of the day, transfer back to your hotel in Wiesbaden.

Hans Rueffert

Chef, author, speaker, advocate and survivor, Hans Rueffert is known by many titles, but his favorite title is perhaps "teacher." A natural-born communicator, Hans has a rare ability to inspire others to push themselves to be their very best. Diagnosed with Gastric Cancer in 2005 just two weeks after taping the finale of the Next Food Network Star, Hans traded in his "Celebrity Chef" status in exchange for "Cancer Survivor." Never one to slow down, following his diagnosis and subsequent surgeries Hans has continued to share his talent in the kitchen with thousands around the world. Hans is motivating and engaging; And his endless knowledge and love of food coupled with his personal struggles with post-treatment life are an ongoing source of inspiration and interest. Hans enriches the lives of those he meets and inspires the lives of those he reaches across multimedia channels.  

In recent years, PICKLEBALL has become an important part of Hans' recovery, and he shares his love of the sport wherever he goes. Hans has played the sport in 6 countries and is looking forward to playing again in Germany!
